Act Now 2013 is approaching!

ENO Programme Association will again arrange Act Now Conference for schools, children and youth and stakeholders. As the focus was forests in 2011, it will be water in 2013. The conference will take place in the city of Joensuu, Finland 27-31 May 2013. We expect up to 1 000 foreign participants and thousands of Finns. For the main event we expect at least 15 000 visitors. Honorary Patron for the conference is Dr Jane Goodall and Dr Pachauri, IPCC.

Forests and tree planting will also be visible in the conference. In the Rio+20 Summit, our commitment of planting 100 million trees by 2017 was highlighted in the overall summary of Rio Commitments, out of over 700 pledges. BBC said it was ”the most dynamic-sounding pledge on the register”. In the conference there will be a strategy symposim for 100 Million Trees in co-operation with ENO Academice Supervisory Board. In addition, representatives of ENO Green Cities Network will be invited.

In the main event, participants and partners arrange hands-on workshops according water and forests. Workshops are various-sided and in addition to information there are games, drama, music etc.

The presenter for main event will be Miss Earth 2012. Other highlights are ENO Action Plan For Water made by ENO schools. The event will culminate on massive choir concert where over 10 000 children will sing together for environment and forthcoming summer in Finland.
